New York ranked #1 in global competitiveness

New York was ranked #1 for global competitiveness according to a report by the Economist Intelligence Unit.  London, Singapore, Paris and Hong Kong round up the top five cities in the world for competitiveness.

Factors in the ranking include financial maturity, economic strength, social and cultural character, global appeal. Asian cities dominated the economic strength category but US and European cities have legacy and maturity advantages that give them a competitive edge.
